Our Range of 16 x 12 Inch Envelopes
The 16 X 12 inch envelope (or 406 x 305 mm) is probably the largest size envelope in everday use in offices today. It is still popular with some professions and users and is available as a white or manilla envelope flat or with gusset. No windowed versions are available.
It has been replaced by the much smaller C4 envelope size 229 x 324mm or 9 x 12.75 inches which accommodates an unfolded sheet of A4 or an A3 sheet folded in half.
Notes on other metric sizes :
The C5 envelope size 162 x 229mm or 6.375 x 9.00 inches accommodates an unfolded sheet of A5 or more commonly an A4 sheet folded in half.
The C6 envelope size 114 x 162mm or 4.5 x 6.375 inches (also known as the A6 Envelope) accommodates an unfolded A6 sheet, or an A5 sheet folded once, or more commonly an A4 sheet folded in quarter.
The DL envelope size 110 x 220mm or 4.25 x 8.75 inches accommodates a sheet of A5 folded once or more commonly an A4 sheet folded twice.

The DL envelope and the C5 envelope, (also known as an A5 envelope) have been the most popular commercial envelope sizes for some years. With the introduction of postage fee based on envelope size, the C4 envelope (also know as an A4 envelope) has lost popularity.
